Historical Background Saskatoon Misbah School Inc. was established in the year 2000. It was seen as beneficial by the Muslim community of Saskatoon to establish a school that follows the provincial curriculum within an environment that would foster Islamic values. Several community members initiated the concepts and then, the planning, which resulted in the opening of the Saskatoon Misbah School (SMS) for the 2000/2001 school year. Mission Saskatoon Misbah School shall be guided by the Quran and Sunnah according to the methodology of the people of the Sunnah and Jama'ah. The School shall, through the teaching of Islamic and secular courses, prepare students to: succeed in this life and the hereafter exceed the goals and requirements of the Saskatchewan Education Standard Program of Study and the Provincial Educational Goals provide an Islamic learning environment, which will develop an Islamic personality and foster good will among students strive to achieve excellence in education while maintaining its status as a recognized independent/associate school as outlined within the independent/associate school bylaws and regulations
